What is the calendar?
The calendar system enables Essex Scouts to share a central list of county events, as well being able to list all the individual events and meetings of county teams, districts, and even national events. Having all this information in the one place allows us to generate a more dynamic website, linking to the relevant events and photo galleries from various pages on the website, which in turn can help you see whats happening in the county that is relevant to you.
It is only for listing national, county-wide, and district-wide events. The system does not cater for keeping an online diary for all individual scout groups.
The online calendar is also the source of information for printed publications such as County Bulletin.
Please note that this is a brand new online system, developed by the County Web Team, so please let us know if you spot any errors, or have any ideas for future enhancements. Thank you.
How can I add my event?
You can add events by clicking on the
button and filling out the form. The form is quite long, but should be fairly easy to understand. It also allows you to (optionally) attach files and application forms for people to download. Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries or ideas!
Anyone can add an event to the system, but all events will be moderated before appearing on the calendar.
How can I edit an events details?
There is a link at the top of the event details page for this. Anyone can edit any event, but all changes are moderated before appearing on the calendar.
It doesn't remember my filter settings
Unfortunately this has not yet been implemented. However, if you set up the filter options you want you can then bookmark the page. The link you add to your favourites will contain all the filter options you have selected.
I'm getting an error doing <this>
The calendar should now be fully functional, but it is still brand new so they may be something we have missed! If you spot any bugs/errors/oddities can you please let us know by using the feedback form (the feedback button is always available at the top right of every page).
