Cherrywood

  Cherrywood is a relatively new campsite, located to the west of Thurrock. It has easy access from the M25 and Dartford river crossing, and to Lakeside shopping centre.

Cherrywood is ideal for bivouac practice and orienteering. The site is made up of two camping areas: one of five acres, and one of one acre in a clearing in the woods with a Log cabin. The Log cabin sleeps 10 youths plus 4 adults, and has catering facilities for 24. It consists of a hall (5m square), kitchen, toilet, and 2 bunk rooms, each sleeping 2. There are also picnic tables available for use. The clearing in the woods has room for 6 patrol tents, and can be used together with the Log cabin.

The site also has a cloth badge for sale.

15 point orienteering course with instructor.

Water activities and climbing wall are available off site, about 4 miles away
