District Commissioner Melvin Tarman

In Colchester North District, over 600 youngsters enjoy Scouting in 15 Scout Groups. In addition we have the following opportunities for our young people, which we manage in unison with the Colchester North District:

Scout Band - a traditional military style Marching Band with many public engagements.

Colchester Gang Show - annual show performed for a week in the prestigious Colchester Repertory Theatre, The Mercury.

Thorrington Scout Camp - 7 miles east of Colchester (Grid Ref. 168/084205) 25 acres in a pleasant woodland setting. Abseil Tower, Assault Course, Pioneering, H and C, Showers, Pack Holidays. Activity centre fitted with all modern services sleeps 48 in bunk rooms or 36 in dormitory.
