Hatfield Forest comprises 11 groups
(Birchanger, Dunmow, Hallingburys, Hatfield Broad Oak, Hatfield Heath, Henham and Elsenham, Rodings, Stansted, Stebbing, Takeley and Tortoises (special needs)), catering for the needs of 730 people (594 of whom are young people).
Each group has at least one Cub Scout Pack and a Scout Troop, with some groups having Beaver Scouts. In addition, some groups have elected to remain single sex so only cater for boys.
The District Commissioner (Sandra Arnold) has a full complement of ADCs, ranging from ADC for Beaver Scouts to ADC for International matters.
A District Executive Committee (chaired by John Salmon) manages the detailed background work necessary for the district to function well.
TORTOISES SCOUT GROUP
Tortoises is a dedicated special needs Scout troop, catering for all special needs. Slow but sure, we get there in the end. Our scarf is Yellow and our emblem is, surprise surprise, a tortoise.
