Right, first off, what is WINTAC ?

WINTAC is one of the biggest annual events that is hosted by Essex for Explorer Scout Units to attend.

It makes for a brilliant weekend away in November, without breaking the bank - and makes for a nice 2nd holiday. The weekend runs from 18th to 20th November 2011. This year the event is being held at Thriftwood Scout Campsite.

Why WINTAC ?

WINTer ACtivity camp - simple eh ? Cool, who is invited to WINTAC ?

If you're an Explorer Scout, then you won't want to miss WINTAC. The cost for participants is £35 but goes up to £40 on 10th October. You haven't got long to take advantage of our early booking discount, so act quickly to get your place on the cheap!

Naturally you'll need to bring your leaders with you - the cost for them is £12.50. BUT they can get one free leaders place per 15 Explorer Scouts in your booking. What better way to treat your leaders to a free weekend?!

What do you get for your £35

Fresh air and green grass. A camping pitch, and access to the site amenities.

A range of daytime activities including sports, climbing, crafts, and inflatables (subject to weather conditions) and much much more...

Nocturnal activities: Themed disco, live music, DJs, etc.

What's the "SPACE" Theme about?

Every WINTAC has a theme, this year we've we've decided to go with a Space theme - so bring out your space suits and rockets!

What do I bring?

• Yourself, and all your Explorer Scout buddies
• Your leaders
• Tent, sleeping bag, roll mat, pillow, teddy bear etc.
• Wash Kit
• Fancy Dress
• Cooking equipment for your unit
• Cash for the snack bar and tuck shop
• Sense of humour and a taste for adventure

Who can apply and how?

Any Explorer Scout unit can apply to attend - but you have to book online through your leader.

NB. All Explorer Scouts must be accompanied by a Leader with a valid Nights Away Permit.
