Mission Statement
“Serve the community by providing a safe inclusive environment for children, young people and volunteers, which facilitates team work, learning and the development of social responsibility”
Aims
- To provide a programme of fun activities for children and young people at risk and give them opportunities to increase self esteem, build confidence and develop social skills.
- To recruit adult volunteers to meet the dual challenge of completing an essential skills training course, enabling them to lead and mentor children and young people.
- To afford the wider community the benefits of the Scout Association, a relevant, diverse, vibrant youth organization that has an important contribution to make in the development of children, young people and volunteers.
Objectives
- Understand the needs of children & young people in order for them to develop as responsible citizens.
- Design & provide a developmental programme for non-scout children & young people to achieve the first objective.
- To identify & develop the skills required by non-scout volunteers to deliver a programme that supports the first two objectives.
- To work in partnership with schools, businesses, local government and other agencies.
- Evolve an ongoing progressive, interactive programme for non-scouting children & young people
- Project the everyday adventure of scouting into the wider community
