I was just looking through the sub camp pages for a bit more info and on the Pygmy Hippo page I discovered there subcamp layout page and I Quote
" Space will be allocated on a m2 per person basis" I'm taking this to mean metre square per person surely this is a misstake as you can only just sleep in that kinda space???
Full Version: Space allocation???
I'd take that to mean you'll be getting x number of square metres per person - this will then be added up to allocate a pitch size to your group based on the number of people you've got - which will help you plan out the size of your camping area......

Which is kind of worrying if you've only got a small group - we might just about fit two of the tents in, but it would be very difficult. We have a dining shelter (presume we can take one of these), three dome tents - one for me (ASL), one for the girl and one for the boys - and that doesn't include any kind of stores/equipment tent.
Plus we wanted to have a bit of room for a few 'special' things we wanted to bring to the subcamp... Perhaps they won't let us have them if space is so very tight!

Apparently space is very very tight at the moment - looks like we'll be getting around 10m2 per person - so for our small group that'll be 50m2.
Not quite enouigh for our geodesic 'igloo' I was planning :- (

If this yr is organised as well as 2004, we were given a layout and dimensions of the space given to us. A great help as you knew before you arrived on the jamboree what equipment / tents you could fit in.

We reckon you'll be getting about 6m2 per person as a minimum. Once all the numbers are confirmed we will do a proper scale plan and let you know the size of your site.
