Hi all,
Seeing as the weather should be getting better, I was thinking we could get together for a picnic!
I'm thinking that not everyone can make Pubscouts or MAD, so I thought this could be a good way to get everyone together for a day/afternoon.
The location I'm thinking off is King George playing fields, just down the road from Thriftwood, and was thinking June time, in-between Pubscouts and MAD.
There would be no cost, just bring what you are going eat/drink, plus any footballs, frisbees, water guns, risers etc.
What do people think, let me know and if enough people are up for it, I'll set a date!

Hi All,
RE: Dates
Pubscouts - Fri 5th June to Sunday 7th
Mad 09 - Fri June 26th - Sun 28th
So realistically the dates on offer are weekends Fr 12, Sa 13*, Su 14 and Fr 19, Sa 20, Su 21*
*= NB: Sat 13th is Beaver Fun Day which Network have been asked to attend/help out at, Sun 21st is Father's Day.

Ok, good points with the dates, I knew fathers day was there, but I didn't know about the beaver day.
So is everyone happy with the following:
What: Network Picnic
Date: Saturday 20th June
Location: King George Playing Fields, Brentwood - I will see if I can find a postcode for it.
Time: From 11am - If that is too early, let me know, just thinking of making the most of the day.
Bring you own food, drink, footballs, games etc
Not sure what to do if the weather is bad, anyone got a house near by? Pip, you did say you're out of the County right?
How does that sound?

Yes...Lucky for you
I think you should all come to Portsmouth and visit me and then you can go to Plym and see Gnome! Network road trip!
and I've reposted the important information for you all so it doesn't get lost in my retaliation!

OK Guys,
There has been an issue with the date I picked! Stuart has sent me the following:
'Network have been asked if they would mind helping out at the County Commissioners BBQ, which takes place that day.'
So I'm now thinking the picnic will be on Sunday 14th of June.
What: Network Picnic
Date: Sunday 14th June
Location: King George Playing Fields, Brentwood - I will see if I can find a postcode for it.
Time: From 11am - If that is too early, let me know, just thinking of making the most of the day.
Everyone cool with that?

Works with me. Cyber picnic is really sad, I think re-creating a Gnome is a better idea but we'll place it in a glass bell, vacuum the air out and enjoy the silence!

Ok, I know I'm tempting fate with the following sentence, but the weather looks ok, so the picnic is still on!
I know that is jinxing it and is up there with, ‘Lets split up and hide in the abandoned theme park’ and ‘This will be the best Christmas Walford has ever had’ But it looks like there will be a bit of rain Saturday night, but Sunday will be dry and should be warm, so grounds sheets at the ready!
I really hope you can make it.

Not controversial at all

This started off as an idea for a gathering of Networkers and to have a bit of a laugh, so I wasn't intending this to be an event, therefore I didn't even think about uniform. I would say don't worry about scarves, but maybe wear something network related? I tend to wear my hoodie for most occasions anyway so it will be in the car!
If this all goes well maybe we can think about Picnic 2010?

Bring on the next picnic, but may have to have something which makes us stand out so all networkers can find us!

This was mentioned, along with several other ideas ranging from a Network tent/wind shelter to a Essex Network Batman style light in the clouds!
Next time, if people want a next time
