Applying as a Staff Support Leader
A Staff Suport Leader is the opportunity to volunteer to help support the event during your free time and recieve a £30 discount on your fee. You could offer activity skills and tuition for a few hours, help marshall during the evening entertainments or be able to work in one of the shops or offices.
 |
When you register, the registrar will send you the Staff Support Leader Form which needs to be completed by each Staff Support Leader and returned to the address on the form.
|
As a Staff Support Leader we ask volunteers to carry out a minimum of 18 hours volunteering time for the discount they have received on their fee. To enable planning for both your group and the Jamboree, the form will ask you to provide details about the times you wish to volunteer.
We will ask you to choose 18 hours between Sunday 27th to Friday 1st, this equates to about 3 hours per day. A day is split into three session choices of AM (9.30 to 12.30pm), PM (2pm to 5pm) or EVE (7pm to 10pm)
Unfortunately due to the nature of a Staff Support Leader we cannot allocate you to a particular role but we want to give you the choice from the areas of support services, activities or retail. While working for different teams you'll have a great opportunity to see how the Jamboree works.
The Staff Support Leader Form will need to be returned to the Staff department by the 31st May 2008 so that there is time to allocate roles. To ensure we maintain the value of your fee discount, we will contra-charge the full fee to the group booking if Staff Support Leaders don't manage to carry out the 18 hours minimum. Unfortunately as a Staff Support Leader you will not be entitled to the fringe benefits of a full staff volunteer.
When completing your Group booking please ensure that your Group Booking Form contains details of any Staff Support Leaders that are registering as part of your group.
Participant Ages
Any young person who is or reaches the age of 10 at the Jamboree may attend, however, you may need to discuss this with the Leaders responsible for taking them. Leaders may bring their own young children and there is no charge, although there will be a small charge if they use Jamtots and MiniJams (Jamtots and MiniJams are a staff resourse and will only be available if space permits)
Vechicles on Sub Camps
We are unable to accommodate vehicles for storing food on the campsite as no vehicles/caravans are allowed on the subcamps. Anyone needing to sleep in a caravan for medical reasons will be allocated a space on the staff subcamp.
