Join In Jamboree - What is it all about?

Join In Jamboree was created some years ago through the World Scout Jamboree Programme to provide a ‘way in’ for the many who were unable to attend this huge global Scouting event. The material provided an opportunity for all sections to get involved in the theming and the excitement of a Jamboree Programme – perhaps using the themes on camp or down at a section evening

How Can I Use The Material?

On the contents page there is a link to programme ideas for each subcamp, as well as the Game Reserve (Adult Subcamp) and the Rainforest (International). Each page has ideas and activities that are related to the Scouting and Guiding age ranges – however there is no need to be restricted to these if you find an idea that works for you with a bit of adaptation, then go with it

For the younger sections you may wish to programme in a series of JIJ activities across a number of weeks, and use a ‘passport’ to record down activities done. In the older sections why not take the ideas and run them for the young sections

You may wish to use some of the ideas to develop your own mini Jamboree over a weekend camp. Perhaps each tent or bunk room could be a Jamboree animal.

Feel free to use the logos and designs in your activities – perhaps to make badges or posters

So What Happens Next?
