Teams are provided with a start grid reference and are asked to set a route that they undertake in the agreed time and then complete an incident task when they arrive. The rest of the event is a chance for teams to accumulate more points by travelling to over 20 bases.
The event includes a non competitive and assisted category for new walkers which is great for anyone wishing to improve their walking skills without the pressure of a competition, meaning anyone can get out on the hills, and enjoy the adventure of walking.
There is a compulsory preliminary meeting for all Explorer Scout & novice Network/Leader teams and team sizes must be between 4 and 6 in number.
How Do I Take Part? Teams of each age range can enter into advanced, novice or assisted categories giving every ability the chance to have fun for the weekend. The event is great practice for hikes, especially Platinum Chief Scout Award and Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's and its only £22 per person.
How Can I Help? With over 20 bases, a number of people required to assist with communications, scoring or support teams, there are always a number of tasks for people to undertake. If you're interested in assisting the team contact Cath Austin, details below.
Online Booking Team places can be booked online soon, and will need to be completed by the 31st July, with full payment and a list of participants and dates of birth which can be entered online.
