The caving team went to South Wales for its April Team Trip and spent the first day in Ogof Ffynnon Ddu 2 (OFD2), even having lunch underground. The cave is an extremely large and complex system which provided an ideal opportunity for younger team members to practice their navigation skills. They did very well, even managing to find the way out which can often be a problem!

Dan Sutton, Scout Leader volunteers for Scouting as he wants to help young people experience the things he has as a result of being a Scout member. He joined Scouting when he was 8, as a Cub, which at the time was the youngest section.

1st Myland Beavers had a great time at our local sports centre, on their bikes and scooters.
They worked in teams and completed distance ride, relay, slalom cone course and worked great as a team and completed their Fitness challenge as well as having a great time!

Emma Freeman, Beaver Leader and other parents came together to open a new Beaver Scout Colony for 1st Takeley Scout Group in December 2013. Before then the Group didn’t have a Beaver Section and the parents were keen to give more young people the chance to join the adventure.
