
The Regional Development Service provides Development Support in the East of England across the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk & Suffolk.
The Aim of the Regional Development Service is to help Groups & Districts to grow and improve the quality of scouting; and Help support adult volunteers in key line management roles, so they have a better knowledge to carry out their role.
The focus of the RDS is to:-
- Increase the engagement of parents in supporting Scouting
- Develop the support provided to “managers” in Scouting through providing “enhanced” support for the recruitment of, induction and ongoing support for DCs and GSLs.
- Increase the number of former youth members taking on adult volunteer roles (40% of all new adult appointments are former Explorer Scout Young Leaders)
- The Recruitment and Retention of Adults in Scouting
