Essex Scouts

Scout Active Support is for anyone over the age of 18 years. It is a way for adults to volunteer time to Scouting in a flexible way that suits them. Essex is now served by a range of Active Support Units who provide valuable back up, advice and practical support at all levels of Scouting around the County.

In addition many Districts also host Active Support units that provide their services to local Scouting be that helping run events, assist with skills training, campsite maintenance or any number of other ways.

Although this is a new section, Active Support members will continue to build on the substantial work in Scouting that has been made by Fellowship in the past and help support the Scouting Adventure for young people long into the future.

Adventures Offshore - the team that provides offshore sailing opportunities in two purpose built sailing vessles

Archery (ECSAT) - the team that provides archery activities and training

Caving (ECSCT) - the team that provides caving opportunities through related badge work

ESNAT (Essex Scouts Network Awards Team) - the team that supports the Awards undertaken by Scout Network

MASH - the team that supports Maintenance And Site Hygiene services at major events

Media - the team that supports with communication tools and processes

Mountaineering (ESMAT) - the team that trains mountain activity leaders and provides specialist mountain weekends

SAFE - the team that provides first aid services

Scout Network Active Support - the team that supports the Essex Network

Water (ESWAT) - the team that supports water activities in Essex
