Siân, an Explorer Scout from a distict in West Essex was desperate to tell us her story about what she got up to on Saturday at County Marathon 2007, so here it is...
Well… today was an experience, I started off not knowing what to think but in the end after hours of tireless walking, I realised it was all worth it when we started to do our first route card. Our first base was Juliet where we had to shoot golf balls into little buckets then it was time to do more route cards, except this time it started to rain. So out came everyones waterproofs. We started to walk again but we missed our turning and took our own route through the forests. We then decided we wanted more food and stopped for the third time in about an hour. Although getting lost isn’t the best thing.
Our team always managed to find the funny side of things. I must say through all the walking, activities and laughter it was an amazing feeling to get to base camp, put down my huge bag and relax.
Love Siân x
