Scout Volunteers Skill Up & Chill Out
Part of the fun of Scouting is about sharing the fun with other adults, and over 200 adults got together over the weekend of 13 to 15 May, to do just that at Skreens Park Activity Centre near Chelmsford.
From Friday evening, Scout volunteers and their families from across Essex arrived for a weekend full of fun and new adventures as they camp together and try out a range of activities and workshops.

GiGA Camp – There’s Still Time To Book!
Over 800 people have now booked in for this years GiGA Camp and with the summer approaching, time is running out to make sure your Scouts and Guides don’t miss out. The closing date for bookings is 27th May, but we expect all places will be booked before then!
New activities have been added to the line-up making this a great way to enjoy the early summer in Essex. The latest addition is an amazing mobile High Wires setup which promises to be an awesome challenge to everyone on site! Take a look at the GiGA Camp website for more information and also to find the link to the online bookings system. If you have already booked in you will find the new health form has been added to the downloads area – leaders will need this to complete their paperwork before coming to the event.
One last thing, if you don’t have Scouts or Guides to look after but like the sound of what’s on offer, another way of participating is join the staff team. We will shortly have details of the areas where you could help out, so make sure you check out the GiGA Camp website over the next week or so and be ready to get your application in!

Leading the activities and entertainments of the event and help pull together a huge range of specialist activities into various zones including water, survival, skills, enterprise, eco, creative and challenge

Looking after the external media coverage, the help centre, internal communications, marketing, media sales, newspaper, partnerships, photography, publications, theming, video, radio broadcast and reprographics.
Global
The search is on for a team to help look after the international guests at the Jamboree.

Essex Weekend 13-15 May 2011 – Get Booked In!
Take the opportunity to join adults from across Essex away from the pressures of looking after our members and to build friendships and have fun together.
There’ll be the opportunity for learning new skills as well as just chilling out. In addition to all the usual activities, the County Training Team will be running a number of modules and a skills booster day on the Saturday.
