There are a number of people available to help support the ongoing development of Scouting. In addition to those here you may find people in your District to help support you in your development project.

Regional Development Service

The Regional Development Service provides Development Support in the East of England across the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk & Suffolk.

The Aim of the Regional Development Service is to help Groups & Districts to grow and improve the quality of Scouting; and help support adult volunteers in key line management roles, so they have a better knowledge to carry out their role.

The focus of the RDS is to:-

  • Increase the engagement of parents in supporting Scouting
  • Develop the support provided to line managers in Scouting; providing recruitment, induction and ongoing support for District Commissioners and Group Scout Leaders.
  • Increase the number of former youth members taking on adult volunteer roles (40% of all new adult appointments are former Explorer Scout Young Leaders)
  • The Recruitment and Retention of Adults in Scouting

If you think that the Regional Development Service could support you, please contact the Regional Development Manager in the first instance.
