Where is MAD?
At MAD we do listen closely to your feedback year on year and as a result we’re pleased to announce we’re staying at MAD’s new home of Skreens Park Activity Centre in Roxwell, Chelmsford. To find out more about Skreens and what they offer take a look at their website here. The address is: Skreens Park Activity Centre, Skreens Park Road, Chelmsford, CM1 4NN.
What’s to do at MAD?
This year we have a great day time programme organised. We will have all the usual campsite activities you’d expect from such an event and site on offer such as Caving, Climbing, Archery, Kayaking and Rifle Shooting. In addition to this we’ll have an inflatables area, clay pigeon shooting*, craft zone and chill out area. There’s also the very popular MAD Pub Quiz on Saturday afternoon.*= Please note there is an additional fee to take part in clay pigeon shooting as this is provided by a 3rd party.
How does one party at MAD?
After a day of doing whatever you choose to and to celebrate or commiserate your exam results let us entertain you with our Friday and Saturday night entertainments!
Friday’s evening entertainment is a more casual affair. Once you’ve arrived, unpacked, pitch up your tent and say hello to other Networks with a “come as you are” theme to the barn to grab a drink and catchup with everyone. We’ll have music in the background and if the evening is going in that direction we’ll ramp it up a touch!
Saturday night however is the main event! This is where your fancy dress efforts come to fruition as you make an entrance to leave others impressed and perhaps take home the trophy of best dressed for your Network. In case you haven’t sussed it this year’s theme is SCHOOL’S OUT given the time of the event – its as if it was planned all those years ago! Our onsite bar will be open on both Friday and Saturday night and tokens for this can be pre-ordered online or bought on the weekend.
No Network camp would be complete with something BIG to finish the weekend off with. At MAD we offer you the opportunity to embrace mother nature warmly with our Great Raft Race*. Trialled in 2014 with great success so we’ve kept it and added to it even more of a challenge. If you’ve not experienced this your team will have to build your raft and then race over land, water, obstacles and crazies to capture the flag. The prize you ask? Well pride, honour, a hot shower and bragging rights for all eternity (or until next year at least).*(subject to weather)
