Billericay and Wickford District Cub Scouts recently attended the district Cub Scout Cyclist Challenge Day. Held at Langham Hall, Billericay, the event for 8 – 10 year olds attracted over 150 Cub Scouts from 11 different Cub Scout Packs.

During the day, the Cub Scouts had to complete a series of different challenges: knowing the names of the different parts of the bicycle, undertaking important cycle maintenance checks, learning about punctures, inner tubes and how to check tyres and inflate them correctly, checking that their seats, handle bars and brakes all function correctly, how to use a cycle safely followed by a practical skills test.
