As the date for the next county Jamboree in Essex is set for 2012, learn how you can express your interest in the event and to assist planning by saying how you’d like to get involved.

The Essex International Jamboree is held every four years for the Scouts and Guides of Essex to experience the fun and challenge of living with a number of countries from around the world. The next Jamboree will run between the 18th to 25th August, in a week between the London Olympics and the Paralympics in 2012, and offer a whole week of activities and entertainment in the Essex countryside.

To give the next organising team an idea of the needs of the next event, a short survey has been set up to gather up some facts about how people would like to get involved.

Visit www.eij.org.uk and complete the survey, stating whether you’d take a group, be on staff during jamboree week, help plan the event or help during the build and take down of the event.

If you wish to apply for the role of the next Jamboree Chief, the role description can be downloaded here. The deadline for applications is 30th June 2009.
