Since its beginning in 1907 Scouting has aimed to share adventure with as many young people as possible.
Essex Scouts has been aiming to grow its numbers through active recruitment of both adult volunteers and young people.

4th Braintree Scout group have been so successful that they are due to open a new Scout Troop.

They currently have 38 Scouts meeting every Friday, but the demand has become so high that this week they will open a new troop meeting on Wednesdays. This is to not only meet the needs of the young people moving on from Cubs but the group have also attracted 10 new members over the last 6 months.

The troop will start small with 10 Cub Scouts and 1 new member but they are expecting over 30 Cubs to move up over the year. This clearly shows that Scouting is
