Chelmsford Cub Scout, Alexander, led a remembrance with his Cub Pack this weekend when he played the Last Post and Abide With Me on his trumpet during a service following a week of remembering service men and women in Essex.

Trumpeter Alexander said, “I was nervous about playing at such an important service” During the service, a member of the Cub Pack also laid a wreath at the alter.

Earlier this week, Ralph Tyrell, president of the RAF Association visited 23rd Chelmsford Cub Pack to talk to them about his experiences of flying with bomber command. The Cub Scouts got the chance to ask questions and to hear all about his stories from his missions and took a look at a painting of the craft he flew.

Later in the month, the Cub Pack will be visiting The Imperial War Museum to complete their Air Activities badge.
