62 Scouts from five Troops in Colchester North District have returned from Scotland, where they survived the rain and midges while having a fantastic time at the Meggernie Outdoor Centre.

Travelling by train and minibus to the Meggernie Outdoor Centre in the Grampion mountains, they were accompanied by 14 Explorer Scouts and 26 Leaders and Adults.

The group visited local places of interest, hiked out and competed in a mini highland games. The highlight of the week being a white water rafting experience on the River Tay from Aberfeldy to Grandtully, some 4 miles.

The Outdoor Centre www.meggernie.org.uk provided on site activities including grass sledging and a river crossing on a traversing wire (not for the feint harted).
