Currently nearly 40 adults (Scouts and Guides) from Essex have been selected to support the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden as part of IST – International Service Team.

Here we hear from two of them …

It is a great achievement to have been selected to attend the 22nd WSJ as a member of the UK IST; I will get the opportunity to mix and work with many different nationalities over the time we are away. This will help me to understand how scouting works in different countries and be able to make my weekly colony meetings more interesting and with a larger international flavour.

This will be different for me this time as I will see the jamboree from a completely different side, as I manager the Catering for 42,000 at the 21st WSJ so am really looking forward to it.

We had a big meeting at Walesby in early July where we got to mixed with the rest of the UK IST contingent, where we started to build new friendships and catch up on old one.
