Essex Scouts – International Update – July 2015:

-23rd World Scout Jamboree – Kirara-hama, Japan:

The World Scout Jamboree is a gathering of tens of thousands of Scouts and Guides from almost every country in the world who, for ten days  live together, experience each others cultures, take part in exciting activities and have an amazing adventure.
100 people from Essex who are members of both Scouting and Guiding, will attend the event as participants, leaders and International Service Team. In less than a month’s time they will be embarking on the adventure of their lives whilst representing the UK and Essex. We wish them a fantastic time!

-International Trip for adults:

We are looking into the possibility of arranging a trip abroad to somewhere in mainland Europe over a weekend (date TBA) open to adult leaders and members of the Scout Network Section. As well as being a fun sociable trip, we would like to arrange some activities during the trip (the sorts of things you might like to do with your group/section/district) and we will also be offering advice and guidance for those people who want to know more about arranging a scouting trip abroad themselves. If this trip sounds like something you would be interested in coming along to please email us to let us know:

-Further information, resources and support:

Work has started work on international programme resource booklet (to be released in October 2015 at the Great Big Essex Expo). Also, a new role description for ADC International / District International adviser is available for anyone considering this role, or if a DC is looking to appoint someone to this role.

If you would like more information about any of these things or anything else international please email us:
