The Sports Relief mile for one Explorer Unit was completed in an unusual way as Scouts across Essex raised funds for youngsters at home and abroad.

Neighbours wondered what was going on, as a dozen Explorers completed 3 laps of the local recreation ground armed only with their sense of direction, glow sticks and someone else crutches but the darkness and rain didn’t stop them having fun and raising funds.

Leader Stuart Donnelly commented “Followed by a wide game, this was a good chance for everyone to have some fun and raise money at the same time.”
