Would your Group or Unit like to be involved in a world record attempt this December held by The Woodland Trust, in association with the BBC to break the current world record of most number of trees planted in one hour by 100 volunteers at Hainault Forest in Essex.

We’re looking for 3 teams of 25 people to undertake this project to be held on Saturday 5th December 2009. It’s an ideal opportunity for Scouting in Essex to make a contribution to the community and to work towards community or environmental aspects of awards.

The current world record is 18,400 trees and it is hoped to reach 20,000 and the Scouts of Essex have been asked if they’d like to take part.

A team of 25 people will comprise of 10 tree record planters, 10 tree record handlers and 5 tree record runners.
