Scouts from Halstead & Colne Valley Scout District are set to attend a major International Camp in Denmark at the start of the school summer holiday.

Thirty eight young people and adults from the age of twelve upwards, from all across the North West corner of Essex will be attending the ten day international event hosted by Danish Scouts.

Most of the twenty-thousand participants will be from the host county with the remaining made up of 800 UK Scouts and other Scouts from 68 different countries from all around the world.

The participants will be camping for ten days on the international camp site and will have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of adventurous activities both on land and open water.

The young people will gain awareness about protecting their environment through community projects such as doing conservation work, undertaking recycling and understanding major ethical issues in order to make the world a better place.

The International event will be supported by three-thousand adults from around the world, who will also have the opportunity to participate in their own programme of activities over the course of ten day experience.
