Scouts from Halstead and Colne Valley Scout District have recently returned from a major International Camp in Denmark.

Thirty eight young people and adults from the age of twelve upwards, from all across the North West corner of Essex attended the ten day international event hosted by Danish Scouts.

Most of the twenty-thousand participants were from the host county with the remaining made up of 800 UK Scouts and other Scouts from 68 different countries from all around the world.

The participants camped for ten days on the international camp site and had the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of adventurous activities both on land and open water.

The young people, while at this event, have gained awareness about protecting their environment through community projects such as doing conservation work, undertaking recycling and understanding major ethical issues in order to make the world a better place.

The International event has been supported by three-thousand adults from around the world, who have also had the opportunity to participate in their own programme of activities over the course of ten day experience.
