The achievement of Harlow Cub Scout was recognised in a Civil Ceremony for his support of Scouting in the town.

Nigel Dalby, a Cub Scout leader, was nominated by Cllr Beckett in recognition of his commitment and service to Scouting within the Harlow District and also for his role as project manager and fundraiser for a new hall.

The building, which was opened last month, was built to replace the hut in Manor Hatch Close which was destroyed in an arson attack in 2011. Nigel raised £150,000 and persuaded a local architect to design a purpose-built building. He also worked hard on site clearance, planning permission and leases whilst keeping three sections of Scouts running in different locations.

Well done Nigel!
