Scout Network members from Castle Point put their skills to good use by demonstrating their circus skills to visitors at libraries across Essex this week as part of the BBC Thrill Seekers project

From Monday, at Rochford Library, the Network members kicked off with a 10 minute demonstration of circus skills and then provided a workshop for visitors to have a go themselves until lunchtime. This was the start of a marathon trip to 4 libraries in two days right across Essex at Canvey, Maldon and Great Dunmow until Tuesday afternoon.

The Essex Scout Network members are always keen to demonstrate their skills and to get everyone involved in having a try for themselves.

Organiser, Sam Petherbridge said, “Our circus skills will be a mixture of juggling, diablo’s, devilsticks, poi, and perhaps even some balancing props.”

The team promoted the variety of activities available within Scouting along with Circus skills and are hoping to interest all age groups to join the movement in their Districts. Sam said, “It was really good, went down really well, lots of people seemed interested in scouting and circus skills, so hopefully plenty more recruits!”
