Tom Fogg, Explorer Scout and Young Leader from Crouch Valley District is taking to the water, bike and foot on the 103km long triathlon across Essex, in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

The sixteen year old from Ashingdon, is planning to “Splash, Mash and Dash” for Charity as he takes on a 3km swim, 80km bike ride and a 20km run this summer.

Tom, who is a student a SEEVIC College, said: “I decided to do this for a couple of reasons. Firstly, and most importantly, because I know people that have and are currently suffering from Cancer. It’s an awful thing to have, but when your a child, or a teenager, you’re supposed to be having some of the best days of your life. That’s what TCT do, they make life more normal for Teenage Cancer sufferers. Secondly, I wanted a personal challenge, I’ve done charity swims and bike rides before, but I wanted a real challenge, and this is going to be a real challenge”
