As Sam Morris joins the county Youth Programme team, we highlight his previous involvements in Scouting and how he will support Cub Scouting in Essex

Sam Morris joins the Youth Programme team today having previously volunteered as an Assistant Cub Scout Leader in Berkshire and in Sheffield. Prior to becoming a leader Sam started life in Scouting as a Beaver Scout before progressing through the youth sections.

Most recently Sam was involved as part of the Vision Team for WINGS 2009 and now volunteers on the UK Contingent Management Team for the 13th World Scout Moot in Kenya 2010.

In addition to working in the Cub Scout section, Sam is also a headquarters volunteer on the Adults in Scouting Steering Group. Sam recently graduated with a degree in Law from The University of Sheffield and now works for Diabetes UK in Essex where he is responsible for volunteer development across the East of England.

Sam is keen to support and develop the section in and around Essex by sharing best practise between packs and introducing new ways to make running your packs easier. Sam is currently looking to recruit volunteers to form a County Cub Scout team to assist in this work across Essex. As the new school year gets underway Sam will be out and about visiting and getting to know packs across the county and would love to hear about all the exciting activities you have planned for your Cub Scouts.
