After five years as Regional Commissioner Rob Lyon has decided now is the right time for him to stand down from the role. Rob has shown strong leadership of the Region over the last five years and we are now looking for his successor to continue with the development and growth of Scouting in the East of England.

The Regional Commissioner is responsible for ensuring the support and leadership of the County Commissioners and the development and growth of Scouting in the Region. In addition, the Regional Commissioner provides vital information to the Deputy Chief Commissioner (England) and National Headquarters on the support needs of the Counties within the Region. It is a volunteer role that is directly supported by the Deputy Chief Commissioner, as well as professional staff support from National Headquarters.

Please find enclosed a role description for your information and consideration, and I ask for your support in forwarding nominations of those you consider suitable to fulfil this key role. Self-nominations are also most welcome. The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday 27th April 2012, with interviews timetabled for May/June 2012.
