Silver End Scouts arrived in Germany on Sunday lunch time and they have been out and about enjoying the local culture and activities.

Straight away it was into the activities with abseiling down the 20 metre Castle Tower. In the evening they joined in a campfire with other guests from Ireland, Canada, Germany and Wales.

Monday the young people enjoyed a Knights Tournament (which is various different team games) and building ‘katapults’ to fire water bombs at each other.

In the evening it was a 10 minute coach drive to Gemunden for traditional Bavarian 9 Pin Bowling. An old fashioned alley that woudn’t look out of place in 1950’s films.

Tuesday was spent in Wurzburg which is the nearest town. It was flattened during the second world and rebuilding was completed in the 1980’s. A guide gave us a tour which the Scouts found very interesting.
