On a chilly Sunday morning in May, Scouts from 10 groups in Thurrock descended on Belhus Woods Country Park for the Annual District Triathlon.

The course included a 1/2 km canoe, a 1km run and a 3km bike ride. Most Scouts decided on the sensible option and tackled the course as a team but a few took on the mammoth task of completing the course by themselves!

A few statistics:

  • 70 young people took part.
  • 22 teams and 16 individuals completed the course.
  • 17km were canoed, 34km were run and 102km were cycled.

Overall it was a fun and successful event and everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks goes to Avock Fellowship for organising the event, Phoenix Network for marshalling the cycle stage, the Condovers campsite team for providing food and refreshments during the morning and everyone else who helped make the event run smoothly.
