Essex was well represented at CTT 2009, which ends today. CTT is a two week event at Tolmers Campsite, in Hertfordshire – where Scouts, Guides, Explorers and Rangers from around the country, camp, take part in activities, make new friends and above all have fun!

CTT could compared to a Jamboree, but on a much smaller scale. A radio station, a newspaper, over forty activities, around 1000 people on site. It’s more than just two weeks of activities. It’s two weeks in a different world. It’s two weeks away from normal life. That’s what makes it such a great experience.

The routine is simple, you have four activity slots to fill each day with over 40 of the most diverse and exciting activities imaginable – such as Journalism, Rock Climbing, Balloon Modelling, Quad Biking, Sailing and some large inflatable structure in which the aim is to smash an oversized football into your opponents face – all in the name of fun! Evenings are no different. Line Dancing, Films, Scavenger Hunts, Campfires, Discos and the on-site pub for the leaders!

The entertainment never stops. “Tolmers got Talent” is the camp talent show, with the usual singing and dancing, plus all the wacky stuff too.

1st Ashingdon, 6th Rochford and 17th Clacton were just a few of the groups from Essex that attended Come to Tolmers (CTT) this year.
