Saint George is The Patron Saint of Scouting. He was chosen because his legend sets a good example of faith, courage and perseverance.

We choose this time of year to gather together and to renew our Scout promise and to illustrate to the public that we are alive in the community by holding public activities.

When in the public, its an ideal opportunity to showcase the things that both appeal to our members, reflect our faith diversity and show we hold adventure at the core of our organisation.

Across the county, Districts are holding events to appeal to members. Stanford le Hope District are holding a barbecue, a promise renewal and then a campfire at Condovers, while Harlow District are having their promise renewal, Scouts and Explorer overnight hike and Beavers and Cub activity day. While over in Maldon and East Essex they are offering hikes and challenges.
