The national event YouShape is taking place between the 5th and the 7th February 2016 and gives representatives of the youth movement up and down the Country the chance to have their voices heard. In Essex we feel that this is a really important part of Scouting and want to promote the YouShape message in our own County.

YouShape Week is a week-long event that will empower members across all of the youth sections to shape Scouting at both a national and local level. We want to encourage Essex to get involved and take part in activities during the week of the 1st – 7th February 2016. This includes all of the youth sections, from Beavers to Network and all those in between.  We want to hear how the young people of Essex are shaping the way their Scouting looks to them.

A fantastic way to get your section involved is to hold a youth forum, these are a brilliant tool to promote discussion and learning within a weekly meeting, or even a district night with all invited.  Perhaps even a forum across sections to compare how they run.

The Essex Youth Programme Team will be travelling around during the week to see what the youth members really want from Scouting, so let us know what you will be planning using the form below, so they can pop in for a visit.

The resources below are a great place to start for ideas, and how to promote discussions within each section, as well as explaining where to get your YouShape badges and certificates to show that you have taken part.

You can get involved on social media nationally using #youshape or get involved more locally using #youshape
