The Youth Opportunity Fund/Youth Capital fund finishes this year. The main deadline for applications is 22nd March 2010. Any funding left over will be distributed after the final deadline on 21st June 2010.
This year, priority will be given to those projects that haven’t been successful in securing funding from YOF/YCF in the past 5 years.
In addition, if the project is for provision on Friday or Saturday night then this may stand a better chance, so any Scout Groups holding their section meetings at the weekends, they may be better favoured.
The usual priorities for these grants are projects involving youngsters from low income families, young disabled people, young care leavers, looked after young people, young offenders, young carers, young refugees, young people with asylum seeker status, young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual people, young black and minority ethnic people, young gypsies, travellers and Romanies, young people in rural areas, young people aged less than 16 excluded from school, those aged 16 to 19 not in education, employment or training, young parents, young people who are homeless. However ALL young people aged between 13 & 19 yrs old (up to 25 yrs) are welcome to apply.
To encourage larger Capital projects, the maximum limit that can be applied has been taken off the Youth Capital Fund Application.
All projects must be completed and monies spent by 31st March 2011.
