“Simply put I loved every minute of it! And we certainly couldn’t have asked for better weather, it felt like summer, with all most no wind and with the sun shining down on us. The views from the ridge lines were stunning, looking out over all the hills and into the valleys below.
I have to admit, when I put my name down to go the weeks or months beforehand, I did fell a little apprehensive about the weekend, as I hadn’t done that much walking before and I knew I wouldn’t know that many people who would be going. But now I have been, I will certainly be going again next year.
Everyone was so friendly, the accommodation and food were so nice. We even had proper beds to sleep with duvets, which were really comfy especially after a day on the hills.
After a full English breakfast, we sorted ourselves out for the hills. We then collected our ice axes, helmets and crampons making sure they fitted. After that we headed out for a local ridge line and peak. We walked at a nice steady pace and we all took turns navigating.
