Planning for the next World Scouts Jamboree (WSJ) is now underway and the Essex Scouts International Team are beginning the process of finding people who would like to attend as participants or support the County Contingent or even join the International Support Team.
Essex has a proud history of sending many young people to Jamborees and the next one in 2019 is no exception. Details of numbers are yet to be finalised, Essex will be part of the UK Contingent. Participating can be a life changing experience, meeting Scouts from all over the world. North America will be host to the next Jamboree working with Canada and Mexico to bring the event together.
If you are interested, or know someone who would be, the Essex International Team will be holding a series of Roadshow evening where you can find out a whole lot more about the event and how to go about registering your interest as a participant (and parents) or Contingent Leaders. Dates are below (also in our Calendar) some venues are yet to be confirmed so check back often to see what’s happening. Adults interested in attending as part of the IST are welcome to attend.
One important point:- To be a participant you need to be over 14 years old not yet 18 ON THE OPENING DAY of the Jamboree to attend, day one is 22nd July 2019.

Participant selections will start within Districts and each will have it’s own coordinator who will be working with local Leaders and the International Team.
