A Look Back At Virtual Camp 2020

As we leave summer and head in to Autumn, we’ve taken a look back at our very first Virtual Camp. We’ve put together a short video made up entirely from photos you submitted during the event.  There were so many submitted we could only show a few, even if you do not appear, we hope you had a fabulous time trying lots of new activities. Can you see yourselves in there?

Don’t forget, all of the worksheets and videos are still available. Visit the Virtual Camp web pages and follow the links. If you are a leader, why not incorporate them into your own virtual programme or event? Let us know what you get up to by submitting a story here; https://www.essexscouts.org.uk/new-story/

The web pages can be found here: Virtual Camp webpages

Scouting in Rural Communities – Have Your Say

Join us on 4th December to have your say about delivering Scouting to our rural communities.

Providing young people with the Scouting adventure presents a number of challenges for rural communities. The East of England Regional Team are holding a series of open forums for you to share you experiences and tell the Regional and County Teams how they can support you in delivering good quality Scouting in those rural communities. This is also an opportunity for you to tell us about your success stories and perhaps some things that haven’t worked so well and discuss the challenges you have faced.

Graham Woolley will be holding one of the forums in Chelmsford and any input would be gratefully received. It will take place at the 1st Chelmsford Scout HQ, Leaman Hall, Meteor Way, Waterhouse Lane, Chelmsford, CM1 2RL. The forum will start at 19:30 with refreshments available from 19:00.

An outline of the agenda is available for download here: Rural Scout Forum GW2

Although registration is not needed it would be really useful if you could complete the form here so that we can gauge numbers for the evening: Rural Forum Sign Up Form
