Adventures Offshore

Adventures Offshore has been a part of Essex Scouts since 1964. We own and operate two 49 foot Oyster Yachts from Ipswich Haven Marina.

What do we do?

We run sailing adventures for Scouts and other young people aged 10 – 25. No previous experience is necessary, and we provide all the equipment you need. You just bring your clothes and a sleeping bag.

When do we sail?

We run weekend trips from April to October from Ipswich. During the Summer holidays we run longer trips of 7 days or longer. The summer trips will visit different ports around the UK and Europe. In 2024 we are visiting Belgium, France, Channel Islands and the South Coast.

How many people can sail?

On a weekend voyage each boat can take 10 people. This is usually eight Scouts/Explorers and two leaders, but we are flexible. There will be two or three of our Seastaff on board as well.

Why should you sail?

Its great fun. It gives experiences that will be remembered for years to come. It builds team work. Its a ready made activity with all accommodation, food and equipment provided.
