County Marathon

Between: 27th September 2024 - 29th September 2024 Location: Broadstone Warren Campsite, East Sussex Sections: Explorers, Network, Leaders and Volunteers

Prepare for an invigorating and demanding challenge at the County Marathon!

 

It’s a two day incident hike, teams will need to navigate around the bases planning their own routes. It’s crucial to ensure you and your team of 4-6 members are well-prepared for this physically demanding yet thrilling event. The event is open to Explorer, Network and adult teams.  All bases will be manned by volunteer leaders so if you’re interested in helping us run the event, please sign up below.

Arrival at site from 6pm on Friday and the event finishes at 3pm on Sunday. Each team must carry all of their equipment needed for the weekend, including tents, food and stoves. Teams will be provided with breakfast on Saturday Morning and Lunch on Sunday afternoon.

Event Details

NEW VENUE – Ashdown Forest – Campsite Broadstone Warren, East Sussex

Cost £40 per head

Team categories are:-

  • Explorer Scout Assisted
  • Explorer Scout Novice
  • Explorer Scout Experienced
  • Network Novice
  • Network Experienced
  • Leader Novice
  • Leader Experienced

Any team that possesses the necessary experience and determination can participate in the Experienced category. Furthermore, any team consisting of two or more members who have completed at least two County Marathons in the past must register as an Experienced team.

In order to assist less experienced participants, we have created an Assisted category for Explorers. A leader must accompany the teams, providing as much or as little help as needed.
